A Charlevoix Engagement session on Lake Michigan
One of the best things about photography, is when it gets personal. And when I say personal, I mean that your closest family friends ask you to share in a special time with them. Peter’s parents have been in my life since I was about 16 when his dad helped my dad coach high school football. Not only did our dads become quick friends, but our moms became inseparable. I have spent many summer nights at my parents house playing poker with Peter’s parents, or up north at the lake on a family vacation together. And to top it all off, Peter’s on and my son share the same birthday! I often think of Peter’s parents as a second set of parents and am so thankful that they are not only in my parents life, but mine as well. My favorite story about Rick and Chris (Peter’s parents) is that on the night of my wedding, they drove us from our reception to Meijer so Kaleb could get contact solution, and then through McDonald’s for food! I am so honored that now I will be able to help them create memories on their son’s wedding day.
When I met Peter and April in Charlevoix for their engagement session, I instantly felt welcome by Peter’s funny personality and April’s charm. They are the sweetest couple and have the best sense of humor together–I think they laughed and smiled the entire time! Throughout the session, we were chatting and connecting and it felt like I had known them forever. I love their sense of adventure, as evidenced by the last few images when April wanted to go in the lake in their clothes and have fun! I am so incredibly excited for them as they begin their journey as husband and wife in October. Thank you Peter and April for choosing me to share this time with your family.
