A Fall Northern Michigan Engagement Session

One area of my life I am very passionate about is Education. Not only am I passionate about education, but I truly value collaboration, being helpful, and sharing when I can. Of course I think I was born this way seeing as how both of my parents are retired teachers and in my spare time I am a high school math teacher. So what does this have to do with Danielle and Cody’s gorgeous fall Northern Michigan engagement session? Well, when I first met Danielle at the hair salon, she was editing pictures on her laptop for a movie she was taking behind the scenes images for. I had seen her around, but I did not know she was a photographer. We eventually started to chat more, and I asked her if she wanted to do hair for a winter senior stylized shoot I was doing and in exchange, she could come and watch, shoot and learn. 

From then on, we have been shooting together ever since. Because I value community over competition (hey there Rising Tide Society!) and education, helping Danielle learn and grow was just natural. And not only have I taught Danielle what I can about photography, but Danielle in return has helped push me to become a better photographer, friend, and mentor. I couldn’t have asked for a better friend so when she asked me to shoot her wedding, I was completely honored. I know that our paths were meant to cross and she was meant to be in my life for a reason.

I know I haven’t mentioned anything about Cody and Danielle, the real reason this blog is here, but guys, I have to let these images do the talking. Their love is so true and genuine, that I get chills when I watch him look at her, or when she smiles up at him. I couldn’t be happier for either of them and I cannot wait for their July wedding in Northern Michigan.
